Global health expenditure database update
In 2017, for the first time, WHO is releasing estimates of health expenditures through an updated Global health expenditure database (GHED) using the framework of System of Health Accounts 2011 (SHA2011). Implementation of the SHA2011 provides the basis for estimating financial flows with an emphasis on financing sources and financing schemes. New classifications now capture more accurately the health financing reforms taking place in Member States, and the changing patterns of financing health systems; new categorisations have been applied, where possible, to data from the year 2000. New data improves comparability among countries and over time, enabling more insightful and policy relevant analysis to be conducted than was previously possible.http://www.who.int/health_financing/topics/resource-tracking/ghed-update/en/
