Dialogue with World Bank President Jim Kim on Global Health



Taking the opportunity of the G7 Ise-Shima Summit chaired by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, join World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim as he addresses the urgent need for universal health coverage (UHC), global health initiatives toward the summit, and future prospects. Discussion highlights will include what the development community can learn from Japan’s success on achieving UHC, the role resilient health systems play in preparing for a pandemic, and the clear economic benefits of investing in global health.
The agenda for the G7 Ise-Shima Summit includes global economy and trade, foreign policy, climate change and energy, sustainable development, health, and women. Global health, among others, has been set as a priority in the World Bank Group, as part of efforts to achieve the twin goals: Eliminating extreme poverty by the year 2030 and promoting shared prosperity. The World Bank Group has worked in partnership with the government of Japan in the area of global health, by cooperating in many ways.
